Dr. Shafik Sachedina’s Proud Legacy In Healthcare & His Community

Since 1998, Dr. Shafik Sachedina has held the position as the Joint Chairman of the Sussex Healthcare which is located in London, England, United Kingdom. The Sussex Healthcare is an organization in which he found and owns that is committed to offering supportive services and care to homes in Sussex County, South England.

Dr. Sachedina was born in 1950 in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania. As he moved and settled in England, he became a British National where he holds multiple positions in various healthcare organizations.

His Role in Aga Khan at Aiglemont in France

Since 1995, Dr. Sachedina has also been the Aga Khan at Aiglemont in France Head of the Department of Jamati Institutions as well. In this position, Dr. Sachedina is responsible for coordinating the programs and activities of the institutions of the Ismaili community in 16 principal areas. He is also responsible this company’s institutions and programs interfacing with the Ismaili communities in Central Asia. He does all this work on a voluntary basis.

His Education

Dr. Sachedina became a qualified dental surgeon in 1975. He received this qualification from the Guy’s Hospital Medical and Dental School at the University of London where he earned his DDS degree. He also earned his MD degree in dentistry from the University of the King College. He specializes in dentistry and oral surgery. Dr. Sachedina also began his healthcare at Sussex, in providing assistance to the aging community as the company’s joint chairman.

Other Roles

Since 1995, Dr. Sachedina has been a board of governors member of the Institute of Ismaili Studies. His other roles for the Ismaili Imamat and community includes being the Chairman of the focus Humanitarian Assistance International Co-ordinating Committee, a member of the Member of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) Committee, Aiglemont, and a member of the Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum. He also served voluntarily for two consecutive terms as the President of the Ismaili Council for the United Kingdom.

Dr. Sachedina takes great pride in his work for his community and in his field. And he continues to make a difference in areas.
