End Citizens United Reveals The Links Between Colorado Congressman And Special Interezst Groups

The special interest groups of the U.S. have become an increasing concern for the End Citizens United PAC who believes the influence of these organizations has become too great over recent years. End Citizens United leader, Tiffany Muller believes the recent vote in Congress over the Tax Reform Bill of 2017 highlights the issue the electorate is facing when the 2018 midterm elections finally arrive; Colorado Congressman Mike Coffman has shown little concern for the good of the working families of his own state in voting for the controversial Tax Reform Bill, in the eyes of Tiffany Muller.

End Citizens United are aiming to highlight the use of donations from billionaire donors and major corporations in creating a gulf between the public and the politicians supposedly representing interests. The links between Mike Coffman and special interest groups are well-known and were spoken of by End Citizens United when Representative Coffman was named to the “Big Money 20” list of politicians who have placed the needs of donors above those of their own constituents. Mike Coffman has now been targeted by End Citizens United as one of the leading politicians who could be removed from office during the 2018 midterm elections.

The links between Rep. Mike Coffman and special interest groups have been well-documented by End Citizens United and include the $2.7 million he has received from various groups hoping to encourage Coffman to vote in favor of tax reform which would provide tax breaks for the wealthiest in the nation. In a bid to make sure politicians such as Coffman take a stand on behalf of the richest in the world instead of the people of Colorado, Wall Street investment groups have also supported Mike Coffman with more than $400,000 in funding for election campaigning.

End Citizens United believe the problem of major levels of campaign funding have been at the heart of the erosion of democratic values across the U.S. since the Supreme Court voted in favor of the Citizens United change to the campaign funding rules in the U.S. The aim of End Citizens United is to bring candidates from the Democratic Party to Washington who is known to support the return of campaign funding rules to their pre-Citizens United form.

End Citizens United Protects Johnson’s Amendment From Conservative Attacks

The many different amendments to U.S. law can often be controversial but one has remained in place since 1954 when Senator and future President Lyndon Johnson introduced his own amendment banning charitable groups from providing financial support to political candidates and parties. Becoming known as Johnson’s Amendment, the law gives the Internal Revenue Service the power to remove the tax-exempt status of Churches, charities, and universities if they are shown to flaunted this campaign financing rule; End Citizens United reveals the law passed largely without opposition to its first reading in Congress and has remained on the law books ever since.

In recent years, as the power of the evangelical right has grown the Johnson Amendment has begun to be questioned by conservative politicians who would benefit from relaxing the rules on campaign contributions made to their political activities. End Citizens United has been following the latest attempts to repeal the power of Johnson’s Amendment with great interest as a whole host of stealth attacks have been made on the law by conservative lawmakers hoping to add clauses to legislation bringing an end to this effective finance rule.

President Johnson was a Senator when he feared the murky world of political donations could be affected in a negative way by charitable and church groups allowing a large number of tax-exemptions to be claimed on a single donation. Johnson included Churches, charities, and universities in the Amendment which took the power to fund political election campaigns out of the hands of charitable groups and instead maintained the grassroots nature of the election financing rules then in place.

End Citizens United is fighting to raise awareness of the changing nature of campaign financing rules which have been attacked by Republican lawmakers and the President of the United States over the course of 2017. President Trump has already signed an Executive Order calling for the IRS to ignore tax-exempt Church groups flouting Johnson’s Amendment and not remove their tax-exempt status as Johnson’s Amendment calls for. A partial repeal of Johnson’s Amendment has also been included as a clause in the recently introduced tax reform bill of 2017 which would exempt charitable Church groups from the rules of the exemption. End Citizens United believes the fact these changes have been introduced using stealth tactics highlights the way public opinion would not support an outright vote on repealing the amendment.

The End Citizens United group has been extremely active on various social media platforms including Facebook where the groups show is patriotism with themes and photos featuring the American flag. Videos produced by End Citizens United also show the united front of people of all ages working together to show their support for the cause of overturning the 2010 Supreme Court decision known as Citizens United. End Citizens United: Why They Want to Protect the Johnson Amendment

End Citizens United recently released a statement, urging all of their supporters to stop the United States government from totally removing the Johnson Amendment from the constitution. The American political group was created in 2015, and since then, they have participated in a number of demonstrations against the United States government and its policies that damages the American society. The group’s main objectives are to restore the transparency and the legitimacy of the United States presidential elections, and to counter their rival group – Citizens United. End Citizens United is claiming that their rival group is the root cause of all the problems and corruption issues that is plaguing the United States today. They are referring to the controversial ruling by the United States Supreme Court in 2010 which allowed private corporations and businesses to support their favorite candidates with unlimited amounts of money, donating anonymously. According to End Citizens United, this gave wealthy families the power to influence the result of the elections. They wanted the United States Supreme Court to reverse its previous ruling to decrease the power of the few wealthy families who they believe are now controlling the nation. Read more on to know more about End Citizens United.

This time, End Citizens United is also battling the Trump Administration’s policy of removing the Johnson Amendment from the constitution. According to them, the Johnson Amendment was authored by former president Lyndon Johnson which prevents organizations that are exempted to pay taxes, like the church, to support or oppose specific electoral candidates. Removing the Johnson Amendment will turn churches into store houses with billions of dollars in cash. They also warned that the politicians will use the tax exempt status of the church to transfer money without paying any taxes, and they will force their supporters to donate to the church and be given tax exemptions. These donations will never be used for the benefit of the church, but for the benefit of the politicians.

End Citizens United is warning the United States government to leave the amendment alone. They are currently conducting protests to oppose the decision of the Republican Party to erase the amendment completely. End Citizens United stated that they have the money and the power to conduct massive protests if the government continued with their plans. Recently, End Citizens United managed to collect more than $4 million from their members and supporters. Experts agree that the group could raise up to $32 million from their supporters alone, and this amount of money is enough to conduct nationwide protests for their causes to be heard. End Citizens United stated that the money they collected will be used to support politicians who will run for the 2018 National Elections who shares the same sentiments with them. They are hoping that these politicians would win so that the change they wanted can be implemented. Know more:
