On July 10 Sujit Choudhry met with top constitutional experts to discuss the Ukraine government semi-presidential system in Kiev. They talked about issues concerning the system, the challenges they face, and what they can do to make some positive changes. The educator and businessman is the Director and Founder of The Center for Constitutional Transitions. Sujit met with International IDEA Sumit Bisarya and Dalarna University’s Thomas Sidelius.
Mr. Choudhry served as the global constitutional process advisor and lectured many different countries. Other government employees were in attendance like the Ukrainian President’s representative in Supreme Court named Viktor Musiaka, Ihor Koliushko representative of Center for policy and legal reform, Ukraine’s representative on Human Rights Vladimir Vasilenko, and a member of the constitutional commission of Ukraine named Sergyi Holovatyi. The people in attendance were high educated and very knowledgeable. They all gave their opinions and input in the matter. The Center for Constitutional Transitions supports the constitutional building mobilizing and generating knowledge. They produce policy options that are evidence based with the help of top networks all over the world. How this manifests is they partner with multilateral organizations through global networks, Non-governmental organizations, and think tanks. They have workshops, they recruit experts, dissemination of the outputs of research, publication, project conceptualization, and conferences to achieve their goals.
