Sujit Choundhry: World Renowned Constitutional Adviser

Sujit Choudhry is the Founding Director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions. And through his organization, he facilitates constitutional changes to emerging democracies. The organizations has collaborated with 50 experts from over 25 countries to provide knowledge and experience to countries desiring in creating more democratic constitutions. Sujit Choudhry has experience with various cultures and their political policies because he has law degrees from three different countries.

He decided to create this organization based on his work as a constitutional advisor for many years. Choudhry felt that the lack of knowledge and research on constitutional transitions made his job less effective. On top of his law degrees e also has a lot of political experience which made him even more invaluable as a constitutional advisor and the perfect founder of the Center for Constitutional Transitions. He believes that the political landscape of democracy is changing and only by studying these changing factors will true democracy survive. Sujit explains one of the most effective ways to elicit change it to listen to the actual people in the community your are trying to assist. One of the major lessons he has learned over the years has been to view your setbacks as learning experiences. They can help others not to make the same mistakes.

Sujit Choudhry is a law professor at the University of California, Berkeley- School of Law. He is world renowned as an expert in the comparison of the constitution in both politics and law. He the upper hand with both experience in the field and is well versed in research on the subject. He maintained a career constitutional advising for the last 20 years.
